Trending Show – Wimbledon Men’s Final
As we predicted, the fashion stakes at the most prestigious Tennis championships was high. From Kate Middleton to Kate Beckinsale, the ladies were out in full fashion force at the Wimbledon Men’s Final this past Sunday. Sadly, our style crush Kim Sears wasn’t there… her brief, but albeit fabulous, wardrobe statements didn’t seem to garner up as much attention as last year’s efforts! Kate Middleton was seen wearing a printed Jonathan Saunders dress that was, of course, popular with audiences at home. (It was a good weekend for the fashion label; Emma Willis also brought the house down in a floral yellow number on Big Brother’s Eviction night.) Kate Beckinsale showed in a chic ‘Whites for Wimbledon’ two piece in the stands. Maybe she was after a quick game on Centre Court after the match?! But taking the crown was Victoria Beckham, in one of her own colour block designs, sitting next to her equally stylish and suave husband, David. Victoria’s dress even trended throughout the afternoon and onto the next day! Her dress is unavailable to buy online but thanks to the colour block trend, the look is easy enough to create on the high street. David also got the lads tweeting last week when he was seen in a beige check blazer by Ralph Lauren. Phew! Nevermind the tennis, what a day for fashion it was!
Style For Stroke!
If you haven’t yet heard of Style For Stroke’s latest campaign, then let us tell you all about it! Boohoo.com and Style For Stroke have teamed up to raise awareness and make a stand against stroke in the most fash-tastic way possible! An exclusive range of slogan t-shirts have been designed by Made In Chelsea’s Binky Felstead and Lucy Watson, Mel B, Sarah Jane Crawford, Kelly Osbourne, MTV’s Lilah Parsons and actor Barry Sloane and founder of Style For Stroke, Nick Ede – who were lucky enough to speak to! (Check out our interview here!) Nick wanted to create a ‘standalone initiative that would engage young and old alike!’ The inspiration behind the ‘Famous Last Words’ collection came from Nick’s idea of how you want to be remembered; the theme also lends itself to a repeatable tradition, so next year’s collection can continue with the same format. (We’re already looking forward to the next batch of celebs lending their mantras to the tees! Nick hopes to pull in the likes of Victoria Beckham and Daniel Craig!) The campaign was launched through social media, thanks to celebrity selfies on Twitter and Instagram. So far, we’ve seen Mel B rocking her own slogan; Ronan Keating, Sarah-Jane Crawford and TOWIE’s Lydia Bright all donning those ‘famous last words’. We even noticed Lydia’s mum Deb wearing hers in the Wednesday’s episode of TOWIE! The collection is available now at Boohoo and a minimum of 25% profit going to the Stroke Association… And keep your eyes peeled for even more celebrity sightings!
Trending Celebrity – Fearne Cotton
TV Favourite Fearne Cotton got married last week and interest in her incredible wedding dress was through the roof! The stunning embellished chiffon gown was custom made by Emilio Pucci and was our highest trending outfits of the week! Her shoes? Sparkling silver Jimmy Choo sandals, of course! We’re sure Fearne’s ankle length rock and roll style will influence a few brides to be this autumn – she looked gorgeous! Interest in the fashionable guests also saw a spike on our radar. Denise Van Outen’s blue print Motel Rocks playsuit was popular with tweeters. Well, if we can’t have Fearne’s dress… we’ll settle with Denise’s fab summer wedding look! Congrats to the happy couple!
