Trending Shows – Loose Women
Thanks to the recent reshuffle of the panel, the fashion at the Loose Women desk seems to be getting even more stylish! The addition of Myleene Klass and Claire Richards in particular has seen the age range of tweets (and audience) broaden, from older women right down to teenagers! Their fresh and colourful wardrobes are always popular and we tend to see a surge of tweets if they are on the show; Myleene’s penchant for independent designers such as Mauro Grifoni and Paola Balzano are usually in high demand, while Claire is more of a high street champion – her floral Ted Baker was a very popular request with a vast range of ladies. While we think the younger panelists have done wonders for the chat show… presenter Andrea McLean is always on hand with a classy wardrobe for the maturer audience, with looks from Marks and Spencer and Next. Looks like there’s a bit of fashion inspiration for every kind of woman on Loose Women!
The Boys of YouTube!
As we’ve mentioned before at Style on Screen, YouTube is fast becoming a key player in terms of fashion on screen. We see the fabulous Zoella and Tanya Burr trend almost daily, but this week, it’s their male counterparts that have really taken the social networks for a joyride! Alfie Deyes, Joe Sugg, Jim Chapman, Marcus Butler and Caspar Lee have MILLIONS of followers between them, and thanks to their ‘YouTube Boyband’ efforts with Comic Relief, their shirt pictured above has become a subscriber must have! The not currently on sale t-shirt stormed our trends on Sunday, but there are similar versions floating around! They’re also stylish in their own right too… Alfie and fellow YouTuber, Tyler Oakley are known with audiences for their love of floral shirts and sweaters; Troye Sivan is a huge fan of TOPMAN, making his extremely popular slogan tees pocket friendly and easy for fans to find, and due to Marcus’ phenomenal YouTube success, he now has his own clothing line that trended with a majority of female subscribers last week.
With a fan base of predominantly female viewers, it’s difficult to spot any males that are being influenced by their casual style. But thanks to their growing popularity, we’re positive that will be changing soon!
Trending Celebrities – Graham Norton & Alan Carr
Friday Night Chat Show competition between friendly rivals Graham Norton and Alan Carr went to a whole different level last week, as the pair upped their game in the suit jacket department. Ladies and Gentlemen, it’s a suit off! Graham, known for his flamboyant taste, makes weekly appearances on the Style on Screen radar. His jackets are popular with viewers week in week out; the on-trend Les Hommes blue metallic blazer was a big hit with audiences during the first show of the new series! But thanks to a plain grey number that garnered barely any interest, Alan swooped in on Friday night with a super stylish beige check jacket and stole the tailored hearts of the audience – men were asking after it, and women were after it for their partners. (Thankfully, there was a just as fabulous Ted Baker style match on hand to save the day!) Did you ever imagine that Graham and Alan would become male style icons!? And who is going to win the Suit Off next week? Hands up if you’re staying in on Friday!
