Trending Outfits: CBB & Splash
We kick off the year with the launch of Celebrity Big Brother. Presenter Emma Willis wore Alexander McQueen’s chic black frill hem coat on the Launch Night; the flirty shape was a huge hit and is the outfit of the week. Housemate, and TOWIE Star, Samantha Faiers also lit up the Twittersphere in her AQ/AQ white jumpsuit. Twitter loved her look, but the jumpsuit appeared to be see-through. Maybe Sam missed the mark on this one, or did she start a trend? Over on ITV, Gabby Logan made a ‘Splash’ on twitter during Saturday night’s show. Just last month, she turned heads at the Sports Personality of The Year awards in a little red number, and now she’s done it again wearing a floral dress by MSGM!
Happy New Year!
Our favourite reality TV fashionistas were out in full force on New Year’s Eve in two gorgeous frocks that our followers picked up on. Ex-TOWIE’s Lucy Mecklenburgh wore a stunning Pastiche Couture dress that is now sold out. Meanwhile, Vicky Pattinson from Geordie Shore rocked a showstopping custom number from Famous Frocks that showed off her incredible body. Lucy’s more demure look edged ahead as the favourite. Good effort, girls!!
2013 was the year of the Aztec and tartan trends, and Holly Willoughby’s wardrobe. Different variations of the Missguided Aztec dress were seen on Made In Chelsea’s Lucy Watson, presenter Alex Jones and Charlotte Crosby from Geordie Shore. Lucy also created huge buzz with her tartan smock dresses, as well as cast-mate Louise Thompson, Geordie Shore’s Vicky Pattinson and Holly Willoughby – who also continued to dominate the female demographic with her collection of lace DvF dresses and flattering high street bargains.
We also saw a huge spike in interest for men’s fashion; particularly from reality stars Jaime Laing and Mario Falcone, prompting males to start utilising social media to find their outfits.
So, whats next for 2014? Will the new hosts of ‘The Voice’, Emma Willis and Marvin Humes take centre stage on a weekly basis? Or will Reality TV stars continue to dominate the twittersphere?
