Scandal is well and truly back with a bang! Kerry Washington became our fashionista of the week thanks to her super stylish alter ego Olivia Pope. As usual, all eyes were on Olivia’s signature looks, including a white Armani Prive Pre-Fall 2014 jacket and her classic beige Prada tote; even Liv’s Lululemon workout jacket managed to create a buzz. But her most sought after look this week were THOSE killer Valentino boots – they were only on screen for a couple of seconds and had the audience in a fashion frenzy! Audiences were also thrilled to see Olivia rocking the black tweed peplum jacket from the Scandal inspired fashion line at The Limited. Kerry Washington and the show’s costume designer, Lyn Paolo, have teamed up to create an exclusive online collection that will also be worn by Olivia on the show. The collection includes statement capes, draped coats and wide leg pants. You can even get your hands on Olivia’s iconic leather gloves. Olivia’s wardrobe has previously been full of high end designer looks and this is a great opportunity for fans of the show to get their hands on one of the most desirable wardrobes in television for less. This isn’t the first TV-Fashion collab, and we’re sure it won’t be the last. Fashion favourite Pretty Little Liars also launched a collection in January with US store, Aéropostale. Many items in the collection have been worn by characters on the show. So thanks to Lyn and Kerry, you can consider your fall wardrobe handled.
As we expected, Strictly Come Dancing 2014 got off to a very stylish start and it looks like Claudia Winkleman has taken the crown as the most popular host. For the first live show, fans fells in love with Claudia’s hot pink Roland Mouret top and skirt. This weekend, it was a vintage Ossie Clark dress and a stunning sold out white sequinned dress from Topshop that caused twitter to explode! Tess still remains a popular fashion figure on the show. Her black lace Temperley jumpsuit trended throughout Friday night’s launch show to become our most popular look of the night. Her bespoke colour block Suzanne Newille gown was also a hit, alongside this weekend’s white Safiyaa mesh insert dress and black lace dress by Lover. The ladies seem to be covering the bases of the all age ranges on the show. Claudia’s fresh, edgy style is predominantly favoured by the younger audiences, while Tess’ elegant silhouettes are always given a thumbs up by the older females. Way to go, girls! It Takes Two’s Zoe Ball is also holding down the sequin fort during the weekdays. She managed to trend almost every night. Last week, she rocked two sparkly numbers; a Phillip Lim maze embellished dress, and the Chandelier sweater by Markus Lupfer. On Monday’s show, all eyes were on her amazing two tone glittering Jimmy Choos.
Stars shimmied down the red carpet in style last night at the Annual Pride Of Britain Awards. It was all floor length and fabulous with the ladies opting for an array of different colours. TOWIE’s Chloe Sims rocked a bold orange look in AQAQ, GMB’s Susanna Reid went glam in an embellished gold Ariella dress and Andrea McLean stood out from her Loose Women co-stars, all clad in black, in a cobalt blue Halston Heritage number. The most popular star judging by Twitter was of course, Mrs Cheryl Fernandez-Versini who was clad in a stunning blue lace Michael Costello creation. Katie Piper picked up the animal print trend on the carpet in a snake skin jumpsuit by ‘Again’. Fans also noticed Kara Tointon wearing the same black lace Lover dress than Tess Daly wore on Sunday’s Strictly. The awards will be aired on ITV on Tuesday night, and judging by the stunning looks on the carpet, we’ll be expecting the broadcast to create a huge fashion buzz!
