Trending Show – BET Awards 2014!
You know us… we LOVE a red carpet! The BET Awards took place this Sunday and when we say the red carpet was a sea of white, we mean the red carpet was an OCEAN of white! Actress Keke Palmer added a touch of metallic armour to her white Alon Livne dress; Amber Rose looked sleek and sophisicated in her long sleeved gown and Paris Hilton made a showstopping sequinned cut out effort wearing designer of the hour, Michael Costello! (Costello also dressed Khloe Kardashian for her recent 30th Birthday and is becoming a red carpet staple!) Thankfully, white is well on trend for the summer months so the female tweeters will be thrilled to find ways to channel their favourite look for less online and on the high street. Admist the whitewash, TV favourite Kerry Washington stood out in gorgeous Dolce & Gabbana florals; it goes without saying that she featured of almost every best dressed list! Nicki Minaj was another popular look on the night. It seems her current toned down image, which is all sorts of fabulous, is continuing to generate the same amount of buzz as her whacky costumes! Fan favourite Zendaya also made the best dressed lists in a cornflower blue Emanuel Ungaro two piece and black snapback; the statuesque and edgy starlet is always incredibly popular with fans and fashionistas, and her risque choice of outfit on Sunday was really well recieved! We’ll be keeping an eye on her!
The addition of Luisa Zissman to the Big Brother’s Bit On The Side panel has been a very welcome one if the chirps of twitter are anything to go by! She’s already a major fashion guru on twitter – her frequent, stylish twitpics always catch the eye of fashion hungry followers, and her wardrobe on the show is massively popular! Many fans know her by her incredibly expensive taste; she wore TWO red Azzedine Alaia dresses during her stint on Celebrity Big Brother, so they’re always thrilled to find she tends to opt for more pocket friendly looks on the channel 5 panel show. She has rocked a white scarf print BCBG dress that was given a massive thumbs up from the audience. She also made waves in a lacy green number last week. This week, she appeared in a segment wearing an eye catching aqua blue skater dress by AQ/AQ that garnered a quite a handful of interest – considering she was only on screen for a mere 90 seconds! With edgy fashion favourite Emma Willis at the helm, and now super glam Luisa… BBBOTS is deeeefinitely one to watch!
We anticipated a big fashion turn out for Glastonbury this year, buuuut there was one MASSIVE ingredient missing… No Kate Moss!! In her (disappointing) absence, key trends included skintight jumpsuits from Sienna Miller and Rita Ora made by Russian designer EKAT. Lily Allen’s fruity Lazy Oaf watermelon shorts also took the fancy of a few colour loving fans. And presenters Lauren Laverne and Jo Whiley managed to sneak up on our trends list ahead of the likes of Alexa Chung and Laura Whitmore! Interestingly, there was one HUGE surge in interest for Sam Smith’s floral SS14 Gucci blazer. It’s not often we ever see a performer’s stage outfit trending for the RIGHT reasons! (Although, we’re kind of upset nobody wanted to buy Dolly Parton’s white rhinestone jumpsuit!) Sam was also seen walking around the festival in the floral number, sparking even more interest from the lads in particular toward his festival look! But the reaaal talk of twitter and instagram this weekend has been Game Of Thrones’ Maisie Williams. She posted a selfie of her 90′s inspired Glasto look onto the web, and the world went nuts! Some thought she’d over done it, but some thought her quirky look was a GENIUS! Her look didn’t manage to take off though… the boho chic style still managed to reign supreme at Worthy Farm.
